Go to Daum Mail (Hanmail)
Hello, this post is a shortcut to Daum Mail (Hanmail). Currently, there are many types of Internet mail services provided by portal services. However, what comes to mind when thinking of e-mail in Korea is ” 한메일
*On October 1, 2014, Kakao acquired Daum, but Daum.net and hanmail.net IDs can be used. 좋은뉴스
In the last post, I introduced Daum Mail (Hanmail) as a representative webmail service that still comes to mind when talking about mail in Korea. It can be said that the background is that it has the potential to start the webmail service in 1997 for the first time in Korea. Now, 23 years later, while still sticking to the basics, please find out what various and useful features have been added and use them one by one.
1. Daum Mail (Hanmail) Check: Menu Introduction (Inbox/Mail Write/Write to Me/Simple Write/Drafts/Sent Mail/Receipt/Recycle Bin)
First of all, in order to check Daum mail (Hanmail), as shown in the picture below, log in to the Daum site and click “Mail” or the number next to it to access your mailbox.
Then you will be connected to your inbox, where you can check the mails received from outside in “Inbox”. You can write an e-mail externally through “Write mail” on the top left, or send simple memos or attachments for reminder purposes by using the “Write to me” function. When writing an e-mail, “Easy Write” is also available, which allows you to read and write at the same time. As shown in the picture, if you press the “reduce” icon at the top right of the mail compose, you can quickly reply to one screen while viewing the mail. In addition, you can temporarily put down the e-mail you are composing with the ‘minimize’ button and open it again anywhere to send the e-mail. Simple, right? One more thing, if you need to turn off your PC in the middle of writing an e-mail, click Temporary Save. You can check it in “Drafts” on the left side of the mailbox and write again.
If you sent an e-mail and want to check whether the text or attachment you sent was correct, you can check it in “Sent Mail”. In “Read Receipt” next to Sent Mailbox, you can check if the other party has read the mail you sent to them. You can check the date and time of reading, so if the other person sticks out his flippers even after reading the email, you can check the read receipt to prevent them from escaping, right? Also, if you sent an e-mail to a member of Daum Mail, you can cancel the sending in the unread status, which is more useful. E-mails deleted from the mailbox can be checked once again before completely deleting them in the “Trash” menu. In addition to these basic features, there are more useful features, so let’s explore them one by one.
2. Mailbox capacity: Stick to the basics! The default mail capacity of 10GB and the mail capacity that continues to increase according to the period of use!
Daum Mail (Hanmail) is faithful to the basics. When it comes to webmail, it’s important to have plenty of space in your mailbox! If you are a person who uses a lot of work or mail, you know how important it is to have enough space in your mailbox. The larger the mailbox capacity, the better. Daum Mail (Hanmail) provides a default mail capacity of 10GB. Considering that Naver has a mailbox capacity of 5 GB, it is twice as large. This is not the end. Curiously, if you are a member of Daum Mail, your mail capacity continues to increase according to the period of use of Daum Mail. If it is difficult to wait for the mail capacity to increase according to the period of use, you can try using the “Unlimited Capacity” premium mail service. How about it, but with this capacity, there will be no problem checking Daum mail (Hanmail) for ordinary people, right?
3. Automatic mail classification: Sender/recipient/mail subject keywords, sort and check the desired mailbox!
Mail automatic classification is one of the really useful features. It is a function that automatically categorizes mail received in one’s mailbox into a designated mailbox through sender/recipient/mail subject keywords. How can it be useful? For example, let’s create a mailbox that receives only “advertisement mail”. As shown in the picture, click “Preferences” – “Auto Classification” – “Add” to add automatic classification. I am planning to create a mailbox to collect advertisement mail. Did you know that these days, advertisement mails are sent with (advertising) in the subject line? Using this, if there is the phrase “(advertisement)” in the subject of the e-mail, it is “saved” so that it is classified as a mailbox called “advertisement mail archive”. As a result, you can see that a rule has been added to classify “(ad)”. How easy is it? Even if it’s not an advertisement, you can share it in various ways, such as business mail and personal mail. This is a really useful feature.
4. Security and spam management: Stronger security and spam management!
Check Daum Mail (Hanmail), which is further strengthened by applying data encryption transmission (TLS). You can have your own space that is safer and cleaner with easy automatic classification and spam management. Daum takes care of security and spam, so we can just use it comfortably. You don’t have to hesitate to check your Daum mail (Hanmail) anymore, right?
5. Integrated external mail management: External mail at a glance!
You can see all your scattered mail in one place. You can easily connect by entering the e-mail address you are using, such as Daum mail, Naver, Gmail, Yahoo, company, school mail, etc. As shown in the picture, connect to “Preferences” – “Account Management” or click the arrow “Check External Mail” to connect to the same screen. In this state, if you register the external mail account you are using in “Add external mail” at the bottom, you can check everything at a glance in the next mail. You can get rid of the hassle of accessing and logging in to various sites to check your mail anymore!
6. Pleasant conversation using Kakao Friends emoticons/letters/skins!
Did you know that Daum and Kakao merged? As a result, even more enjoyable conversations are possible using Kakao Friends emoticons, stationery, and skins in Daum Mail. It would be nice to express rich emotions using emoticons and stationery instead of hard and boring emails until now. The recipient will also feel better. Oh, did you feel a bit disappointed because you thought that only the recipient would feel better? You can style your mail so that the writer feels good too. Set the mail screen to a skin that suits your taste, and change it according to your mood while using it. You may be waiting for it to enter your mailbox.
7. Convenient search
Have you ever been frustrated because you remember the contents of an e-mail you received in the past, but you can’t remember when it was from or who sent it? You don’t have to worry anymore. You don’t need to set up separate search conditions, just enter the keyword you want in the search box and you can quickly search for emails within the search range of keywords such as subject, content, and sender. In my opinion, it is the most convenient and useful feature for checking Daum Mail (Hanmail). I use it very often, but many people don’t seem to know about it. Everyone, let’s not miss a single small email through this post.
So far, we have learned about Daum mail (Hanmail) confirmation. In addition to this, there are still various functions such as Daum Smart Work, image quick view, signature setting, and absent response that have not been introduced.
